l refuse to let Quvenzhanè’s journey turn into the Rutgers Women’s basketball scandal. Those women had such an amazing run in the NCAA tourney and people only remember Don dumbass Imus… Screw that… While it’s important for us to check The Onion and discuss the racism/sexism involved in the incident, Quvenzhanè’s brilliant performance and well deserved nomination should not be over shadowed by The Onion while they get more hits on their page. That’s bass ackwards… l’m gonna watch Beasts of the Southern Wild again and focus on our Hushpuppy

so a white lady who just watched Who is Black in America just told me on twitter not to push my PYPM kids to write about serious issues. Said if we just think positively, and not mention racism or colorism, it’ll go away.
